Heal Your Eczema Now With Coconut Oil

Resorting to alternative, natural eczema treatment methods to get the best cure or results is sometimes necessary to cure eczema problems. Eczema is usually a very persistent, itchy skin condition consisting of skin dryness and inflammation manifested by redness of the skin, crusting and thickening of the skin. Eczema is an inflammation of the skin and may be associated with an allergic reaction, although the cause is not always known.

Another possibility for eczema that has received increasing attention from skin specialists, dermatologists and other skin doctors is that of any shock to the nervous system or prolonged mental stress or strain. Coconut oil works better than eczema creams, which are usually eczema products laden with chemicals, whether for babies, teens or adults. Virgin coconut oil is very inexpensive therefore, a good, cheap home remedy.

In adults, eczema is commonly found on the inner elbow or behind the knee. If you also have acne, coconut oil will treat acne too and is better than most chemical acne products. Once skin is exposed to a trigger, it releases chemicals to the surface of the skin, which causes a patient to itch.

To get control of your skin condition it does take time and energy to follow a successful skin care routine. Serious types of eczema include nummular, discoid and dyshidrotic. We know that when someone is experiencing stress they are more likely to feel itchy and then start scratching the skin.

Unprocessed organic virgin coconut oil soothes the area immediately and goes to work on healing eczema, dermatitis or just about any skin condition. The eczema creams on the market today can be used for both skin hydration and to reduce inflammation but coconut oil is a cheap reliable home remedy. A severe attack of eczema is usually accompanied by a slight constitutional disturbance, but general health seldom suffers appreciably, unless, as occasionally, the itching is so bad that it makes sleep impossible.

Contact dermatitis offenders include jewelry, perfumes, chemicals in any cosmetics, shellac in mascara, lipstick, nickel, lotions, soaps, fabric softener sheets, pesticides from contact around the mouth, latex gloves, tomatoes, etc.

Eczema is actually dermatitis that is in advanced, more serious stages. Also you can expose the affected area to direct sunlight for 20 minutes or so each day and get your daily dose of vitamin D that way too.

Organic virgin coconut oil cures many other skin conditions and skin disorders too, besides making the skin soft and smooth. Patients with eczema have skin that is very sensitive to many substances such as soap, wool, detergents, make-up, cosmetics, mascara, lipstick, nail polish, shampoos, etc. A school-age child who has poor skin control usually feels very isolated from his or her peers and can develop low self-esteem.

Eventually the immune system and body do the healing if you were to do nothing, but coconut oil can speed up the process. We do know now however, that in people prone to eczema, certain things may cause a 'flare' or 'flare-up' or may 'trigger' an episode. Your eczema and its symptoms, with the proper eczema treatment, providing you've removed the cause, should go away.

How To Make An Organic Moisturizer

Organic Skin Care must include moisturizers. Although it is handy to purchase these in a ready to use form, you may want to try some of the following homemade moisturizers for a luxurious change on occasion.

You will find that they leave your skin feeling like a million bucks. If cost is a concern, check prices online before choosing a certain recipe. Keep in mind that the more essential oil that the recipe calls for, the more expensive it is to make. In places that the essential oil is more for light fragrance than for necessity to the recipe, it is marked as 'optional.' Any essential oils marked this way can be omitted or changed to a scent that you prefer. For those not marked optional, you need them for the recipe to work like it should.

By packaging the moisturizers in small Mason jars, you leave yourself open to decorate and give as gifts in a pinch. Place a bit of colorful fabric over the flat lid to the jar, screw the ring on, wrap a color coordinated ribbon around the ring and add a personal tag and you have a ready to give, organic skin care gift from the heart. Just be sure that you are willing to share the recipe or they may drive you crazy wanting more!

Quick and Simple Moisturizer:

Jojoba Oil is great for any skin type and absorbs easily. Apply a small amount to your freshly cleaned face before you dry it. The water on your face is very important to the use of this oil as a moisturizer. For added enjoyment, mix a drop of your favorite organic essential oil to the jojoba just before application. For anti-aging help, use one teaspoon of jojoba and a dab of active royal jelly (found in refrigerated in health food stores); keep your royal jelly refrigerated or it becomes inactive and no good to you.

Anti-aging Dry Skin Moisturizer
4 ounces shea butter
2 ounces organic olive oil
2 teaspoons organic vitamin E oil, 5000 IU
1 teaspoon active royal jelly (refrigerated section of health food stores)
6 drops organic lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients on high until smooth and creamy. Store refrigerated in an airtight container. It is necessary to make small amounts of this at a time and keep refrigerated because of the active royal jelly. This is an awesome ingredient for its healing properties and well worth the effort.

Super Simple Moisturizer

With only 2 necessary ingredients, this one is a breeze. Mix 1/4 cup pure aloe vera gel (directly from plant) and 2 tablespoons organic vegetable glycerin. This amount is for use over the entire body. Use immediately because aloe vera gel begins to lose potency immediately. For added effects, you can add 3 or 4 drops of your favorite essential oil or you can add 1/2 teaspoon of active royal jelly for anti aging effects. Active royal jelly must be kept refrigerated to remain active and can be found in refrigerated sections of health food stores.

Dry Skin Moisturizing Cream

This moisturizer has the healing qualities of aloe vera, the anti-oxidant qualities of Vitamin E, and a variety of oils specifically chosen to infuse dry, tired skin with moisture and a renewed radiance.

1/3 cup aloe vera gel (taken directly from plant)
1/4 cup beeswax (liquefied)
1/3 cup coconut oil
3 drops grape seed extract
6 drops of organic lavender essential oil (optional)
3/4 cup organic olive oil

1/4 tsp vitamin E (5000 IU)
2/3 cup water (distilled)
Combine olive oil, coconut oil, and beeswax and melt in a large, microwave safe bowl then pour in blender and let cool until it is about as thick as a milkshake.

While the above is cooling, combine your water, aloe, essential oil, vitamin E, and grape seed extract in a large liquid measuring cup, pour this into blender when the other mixture has cooled enough. Blend until smooth and creamy.

If you are lucky enough to have a heavy duty kitchen mixer (the kind that is on its own stand with its own bowls), you may find that it works better for you because the mixture does become very heavy.
Store refrigerated in small Mason jars.

Skin Care Home Remedies

Natural homemade recipes for your skin are simple to make and cost-effective. What you put on your skin is just as important as what you eat. Commercial products often contain chemicals that are absorbed by your skin finding their way into the bloodstream which can be harmful to your overall health.

Virgin coconut oil/butter makes for a good moisturizer by providing a protective layer that locks in natural moisture. Coconut oil solidifies at temperatures below 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the coconut butter in small lip balm or eye cream jars or any small sterilized jar. For a lip balm, use coconut butter on its own or add peppermint or spearmint oil. As an acne treatment, add a couple of drops of tea tree, lavender, or patchouli oil. For wrinkles, add rose, orange or patchouli oil. To treat eczema, add chamomile, geranium, or orange oil. To treat broken capillaries, add rose, palmarosa, or parsley oil. To treat cellulite, add grapefruit, tangerine, or orange oil. For stretch marks, add palmarosa or neroli oil. To treat burns, add geranium, patchouli or lavender oil.

For sunburned skin, break open a leaf of an Aloe Vera plant and smooth onto the skin. The gel is also good for other types of burns and has soothing, cooling, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Strawberry juice, cucumbers and avocados are also soothing to sunburned skin.

For tired eyes, place cucumber slices over your eyes. For dark circles around your eyes, place cooled tea bags over your eyes.

For a homemade facial toner, mix green tea, chamomile or ginseng tea (made with mineral water or distilled water) with lavender or lemon oil. Green tea is rich in antioxidants which fight free radicals that damage and age the skin. Green tea is said to diminish fine lines. Lavender oil is a good toner and lemon oil is a good rejuvenator and toner. Add Vitamin C crystals as a preservative and antioxidant. MSM (Methyl Sulfonyl Methane) is a natural source of organic sulfur good for the skin. Add MSM crystals to your toner or eat high sulfur foods such as kale or watercress.

Prick a capsule of Vitamin A, E, or wheat germ oil and smooth directly onto your skin, add to coconut, almond or apricot oil, or to your toner. Vitamin A is a potent antioxidant and Vitamin E is said to slow down the aging process. Almond oil soothes and lubricates the skin. Apricot oil protects and softens the skin. Wheat germ oil promotes skin elasticity.

For a moisturizing and refreshing mask, mix avocado with shredded cucumber. Avocados are rich in protein and Vitamin A. Cucumbers are cooling and cleansing. Use a mashed banana for a skin firming mask.

To lighten age spots, rub lemon directly onto your skin.

For a body powder, mix cornstarch and baking soda with your favorite essential oil. For a foot powder, mix cornstarch, baking soda and tea tree or peppermint oil. Baking soda acts as a deodorizer and soothes the skin. Tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic, germicide, antibacterial, and fungicide. Peppermint oil is soothing to the feet and swollen ankles.

Drinking plenty of water, eating raw fruits and vegetables, and getting plenty of rest are one of the best ways to achieving healthy and radiant skin. What goes into your body is reflective on your skin.

Natural Skin Care Products - How Do You Choose?

There are so many natural skin care products out there, all of them promising to help make your skin look younger and healthier. But with so many options and choices out there, how can you really choose the product that will provide you with the most effective skincare? Well, it's actually not that difficult. Once you realize exactly what your skin needs to look its best, the next step is choosing products that contain that contain the right ingredients. And here are five things your skin needs to keep it looking young and healthy.

Moisturizer
A good moisturizer is one of the key ingredients in a good skin care routine. If you're skin is dry, it is more vulnerable to things like age spots, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as other kinds of damage. Keeping your skin moisturized and hydrated is one way to keep it looking its best. But not all moisturizers are created equally. Synthetic moisturizers can clog your pores and keep your skin from breathing. Natural moisturizers, on the other hand, give your skin the moisture it needs without clogging the pores and causing breakouts or other skin problems.

Protection from the Sun
Too much sun exposure is one of the major causes of the visible signs of aging, including wrinkles, age spots, and dark circles around your eyes. Exposure to harmful UV rays can also cause other kinds of damage that make your skin look older. That's why it's important to use products that contain ingredients, like CoenzymeQ10, that can protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays.

Antioxidants to Fight Free Radical
s

As we now know, free radicals can cause all kinds of damage to your body, and is responsible for many health problems. And your skin is no exception. Fortunately, beauty products that contain antioxidants can protect your skin from the damage free radicals can cause. Not only that, but free radicals can actually reverse some of the skin damage you might have already experienced. Ingredients

That Stimulate New Skin Cell Rejuvenation

One of the keys to youthful looking skin is the production of new skin cells. When new skin cells are produced to replace old, worn out ones, the result is younger looking skin. Unfortunately, as we get older, our body's production of new skin cells begins to slow down. But all is not lost. There are some skincare ingredients that can stimulate the production of new skin cells. CynergyTK is one good example. This ingredient has been clinically proven to dramatically increase skin cell production by as much as 160%.

Ingredients That Stimulate Collagen and Elastin Production

As we get older, our bodies produce less collagen and elastin. This is unfortunate because, without them, our skin can begin to lose firmness and elasticity, as well as developing fine lines and wrinkles. Fortunately, the right skin care product can help to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in thicker, firmer, more elastic skin. Finding the right natural skin care products isn't as difficult as you might think, especially when you know which ingredients will give you the results you want.
